Scattering and absorption of photons are the basis for many scientific, industrial and medical applications. With the OCDB (optical constants data base), the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt provides access to the optical constants of various materials derived from recent measurements. The data will be continuously updated and the wavelength range (1 nm - 220 nm) as well as the number of materials are extended.
