Scattering and absorption of photons are the basis for many scientific, industrial and medical applications. With the OCDB (optical constants data base), the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt provides access to the optical constants of various materials derived from recent measurements. The data will be continuously updated and the wavelength range as well as the number of materials are extended.
